Justice, the acclaimed French electronic duo, has publicly expressed their admiration for the Australian band Amyl and The Sniffers. This revelation comes as Justice embarks on their long-awaited tour across Australia, promoting their latest album, Hyperdrama, released in 2024. The tour began on December 3, 2025, at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, with upcoming performances scheduled in Melbourne and Brisbane.

Opening for Justice during this tour is Kevin Parker, the creative force behind Tame Impala. Parker is currently presenting his DJ set under the name DJ Tame Impala, captivating audiences across the east coast. The collaboration between Justice and Parker has already produced significant recognition, with their track “Neverender” from Hyperdrama winning the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording in 2025.

During a recent interview, Gaspard Augé of Justice reflected on the unique quality of Australian music. He noted the consistent emergence of outstanding artists from Australia over the last six decades. “We often think about why Australia produces some of the best music consistently for the past 60 years. Our theory is that actually being isolated in the physical world might be a big part of that,” Augé stated. He emphasized the importance of the country’s geographical distance from global trends, which he believes fosters a distinctive musical landscape.

The electronic dance music scene in Australia is thriving, with artists like Dom Dolla, Ninajirachi, Luude, and FISHER leading the charge. Despite this, Augé admitted that his personal preference leans toward Amyl and The Sniffers, highlighting their impact on the music scene in 2025. The punk-rock band has had a remarkable year, performing at the prestigious Glastonbury Festival, earning a nomination for a BRIT Award, and winning four awards at the ARIA Awards. They have also received their first Grammy nomination for the upcoming ceremony.

Amyl’s energetic frontwoman, Amy Taylor, has ventured into electronic music with her collaboration “you’re a star” alongside Fred Again. This exploration showcases her versatility as an artist and further solidifies her presence in the music industry.

Looking ahead, questions arise about the future of Justice and their next album. When asked whether fans would have to wait another eight years for new music, Augé humorously predicted, “Purely on the statistics, I would say a safe prediction for the next album is around 2048.” This playful remark highlights the duo’s commitment to quality over speed in their creative process.

Justice’s Australian tour continues with performances at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on December 5 and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on December 7. De Rosnay described the live show as an experience focused on execution, aiming to deliver something “fun, frantic, exhilarating and new” for the audience. As fans anticipate these events, the collaboration and mutual admiration between Justice and Amyl and The Sniffers signal a vibrant future for both acts in the ever-evolving music landscape.
