James Harden Surges into NBA’s Top 10, Passes Carmelo Anthony
BREAKING: LA Clippers superstar James Harden has officially entered the NBA’s top 10 all-time scorers, surpassing Carmelo Anthony during a dramatic game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. Harden, who needed just 21 points to overtake Anthony’s total of 28,289 points, achieved this milestone with two free throws at 4:23 in the third quarter.
This historic achievement is a momentous occasion for Harden, who expressed disbelief at joining such elite company. “You look at that list, it’s like there’s no way,” he stated. “It’s just literally like a dream come true.” The significance of this feat resonates deeply, as Harden is now among legends like LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Kobe Bryant, all of whom have left an indelible mark on the NBA.
Harden entered the game averaging 26.5 points per game this season, demonstrating his scoring prowess. Next on the list are Shaquille O’Neal with 28,596 points and former teammate Kevin Durant, who holds 31,024 points.
Reflecting on his journey, Harden noted the challenges he faced while competing against towering players. “I was looking at the list, and it’s like all those guys are way bigger than me, way more athletic than me,” he remarked. His unique style of play, particularly his signature step-back jumper, has reshaped how basketball is played at every level. Since the 2013-14 season, Harden has excelled with nearly 2,000 step-back jumpers, amassing over 5,100 points from that move alone.
“It is literally like you created something, and now everybody’s doing it,” Harden explained, emphasizing his role in influencing the game.
Harden’s journey to this point has not been without its challenges. Now 36 years old, he remains a force on the court, with Kawhi Leonard praising his continued high-level performance. “He’s still doing stuff that the faces of the league are doing,” Leonard said. “You can see how much work he puts in and how much he cares about the game.”
The Clippers star also reflected on his early career, pondering how different his path might have been if he had not been traded from Oklahoma City to Houston. “Life-changing,” Harden called the move, which transformed him into a scoring powerhouse.
With an eye on the future, Harden remains focused on his next goals. He is currently sitting behind LeBron James, who leads the scoring list with 42,268 points. When asked if he feels invincible during games, Harden confidently replied, “I feel like that still.” As he continues to chase this milestone, fans are eager to see what’s next for this remarkable player.
Stay tuned for further updates as Harden’s career unfolds, and watch for his next moves as he climbs the scoring ladder.
