UPDATE: In a shocking incident on the New York Thruway, a 4-year-old child was discovered walking alone, leading to the arrest of two adults. The New York State Police confirmed the arrests of 31-year-old Robert L. Lyman and 30-year-old Mikayla A. Miller, both residents of Silver Creek, New York, on charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The alarming event unfolded on October 27, 2023, around 6:10 p.m., when a driver noticed the young child on the side of the I-90 Thruway. Concerned for the child’s safety, the driver promptly pulled over and called 911, assisting the child until police arrived.

Upon reaching the scene, authorities found the child safe and in good health but quickly learned that Lyman and Miller were not supervising the child at their nearby home. In fact, at the same time, Child Protective Services had conducted an unannounced visit to the residence and discovered the child was missing.

As police continued their investigation, they connected the discovery of the child on the Thruway to the ongoing search initiated by Child Protective Services. It remains unclear what led to the child’s wandering on the highway, but local reports suggest that Lyman and Miller are the child’s parents.

In a statement, the New York State Police emphasized, “Child Protective Services are working with the family on the safety of the children.” This incident highlights critical concerns about child safety and parental supervision.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, and the community is urged to remain vigilant about child welfare. As this story develops, more details will emerge about the circumstances surrounding this alarming situation.

Stay tuned for updates on this urgent matter, as it raises significant questions about child protection and safety in New York.
