URGENT UPDATE: Two burglars invaded a home on Corina Way in Palo Alto while the elderly residents were awake, prompting a police investigation. The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Thursday night, when the residents, both in their eighties, heard a loud crash as the intruders broke in.

As one of the residents went to investigate the noise, she encountered an intruder ascending the staircase. A second suspect was spotted near the back door. Both thieves fled the scene in a vehicle after the female resident screamed, according to the Palo Alto Police Department.

This alarming incident highlights the ongoing concerns regarding home security, especially for vulnerable populations. As police continue to search for the suspects, community members are being encouraged to enhance their home security measures.
