Victor Oladipo Signs with Bucks’ G League Team, Wisconsin Herd
BREAKING: Two-time NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo has just joined the Wisconsin Herd, the Milwaukee Bucks G League affiliate, in a move announced today. This significant acquisition comes as Oladipo aims to revitalize his career after a serious injury sidelined him since the 2022-23 NBA season.
The Herd confirmed the news earlier today, revealing that they acquired Oladipo from the Santa Cruz Warriors, who claimed him during the G League player pool process. Following his recovery from a torn left patellar tendon sustained while playing for the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2023 playoffs against the Bucks, the 33-year-old Oladipo is eager to make a comeback.
In a strategic move, the Santa Cruz Warriors traded Oladipo’s rights to Wisconsin for a 2027 first-round pick in the G League draft. This trade highlights the Warriors’ confidence in Oladipo’s potential, even after a challenging recovery period.
Despite not having played in the NBA since his injury, Oladipo showcased his skills in recent preseason games with the Guangzhou Loong-Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association. His performance in these games has fueled optimism among fans and analysts about his readiness to return to competitive basketball.
Throughout his 10-year NBA career, Oladipo has averaged 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, with an impressive shooting percentage of 44%. He received All-Star honors in consecutive years, 2018 and 2019, and now looks to reclaim that elite status with the Herd.
As the Herd prepares for the upcoming G League season, all eyes will be on Oladipo. Fans are eager to see how he adapts to this new chapter in his career and whether he can regain his All-Star form. The G League is often a proving ground for players returning from injuries, and Oladipo’s journey will be closely monitored by basketball enthusiasts worldwide.
Stay tuned for updates on Oladipo’s performance and his impact on the Herd as they gear up for their season. This developing story is sure to excite basketball fans as they witness a former star’s quest for redemption.
