Giannis Returns to Lead Bucks Past Hornets 147-134 in Overtime
UPDATE: In a thrilling overtime clash, the Milwaukee Bucks triumphed over the Charlotte Hornets 147-134, fueled by the stunning return of Giannis Antetokounmpo on November 14, 2025. Antetokounmpo showcased his elite skills with 25 points, 18 assists, and 7 rebounds, marking a pivotal moment in the NBA Cup matchup.
The Bucks faced fierce competition from Kon Knueppel, the former Milwaukee high school star, who scored a season-high 32 points in his first NBA game in his hometown. This matchup was electric, as both teams split their home-and-home series, with the Hornets previously defeating the Bucks 111-100 just days earlier while Antetokounmpo was sidelined due to patellar tendinopathy in his left knee.
Knueppel, drafted fourth overall after a standout season at Duke, delivered a remarkable performance, hitting two clutch three-pointers late in regulation to tie the game at 125 and again at 129. His resilience shone through when he snagged a rebound following a missed dunk by Miles Bridges, proving he is a player to watch.
Despite some struggles, including 7 turnovers and an air-ball at the buzzer sending the game to overtime, Antetokounmpo’s impact was undeniable. Kyle Kuzma led the Bucks with 29 points and 10 rebounds, while Ryan Rollins contributed 20 points.
For the Hornets, Miles Bridges also tallied 32 points, and LaMelo Ball added 16 points and 10 assists, demonstrating the growing talent within the team. Moussa Diabate chipped in with 15 points and 11 rebounds as well.
The Bucks improved to 8-5 overall and 2-0 in NBA Cup play, while the Hornets fell to 4-8 overall and 0-2 in the in-season tournament.
NEXT UP: The Hornets will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night, while the Bucks are set to face off against the Los Angeles Lakers in Milwaukee.
This thrilling contest not only showcased rising stars like Knueppel but also highlighted the return of Antetokounmpo, promising exciting developments in the NBA season ahead. Stay tuned for more updates as the season progresses and both teams vie for supremacy.
