Urgent: Bruce J. Stark, 80, Passes Away in Jacksonville, FL
BREAKING NEWS: Bruce J. Stark, an esteemed member of the Jacksonville community, has tragically passed away at the age of 80. He died on October 13, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and service.
Born on May 15, 1945, in Schenectady, New York, Bruce’s life was marked by dedication to his family and a passion for helping others. A proud graduate of Linton High School in 1963, he later earned a degree in computer science and math from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY, and continued his education at the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Bruce’s commitment to service extended beyond education. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and was active duty in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. His military service shaped his values, and he continued to give back to his community through various organizations. He was a dedicated member and minyan captain at the Jacksonville Jewish Center, and actively involved with Magen David Adom and the Jacksonville Humane Society.
For years, Bruce and his wife, Katherine Senrick Stark, fostered and adopted dogs through the Golden Receiver Rescue Society, showcasing their love for animals and commitment to welfare. His joy for life was evident in his passion for classic car shows, where he connected with fellow enthusiasts.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Katherine, son Aaron Stark, daughter Rachel Stark Corum (Brady), and grandchildren Elliot David Corum and Arya Corum. He also leaves behind two sisters, Nancy Schoenburg (Stuart) of Boca Raton, FL, and Barbara Heisler (Michael) of Tucson, AZ.
His family shared that Bruce’s greatest love was his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As the community mourns this loss, tributes are pouring in, highlighting his generosity and uplifting spirit.
