The Berks County 4-H Dairy Judging Team recently showcased their skills at the prestigious North American International Livestock Expo 4-H Dairy Judging Contest held in Louisville, Kentucky. This competition marked a significant achievement for the team, which earned its spot by securing second place in the Pennsylvania 4-H Dairy Judging Contest in June 2025.

Comprising four dedicated members—Connor Servin and Alexis Servin from Bernville, Wyatt Lehner from Mohrsville, and Addison Nolan from Lebanon—the team was guided by experienced coaches Raechel Sattazahn and Brandon Grumbine. The team members invested considerable time and effort into their preparation, engaging in rigorous practice sessions and extensive study to enhance their judging capabilities.

Dairy judging involves assessing dairy animals based on desirable traits and conformation. At the contest in November, the Berks County team placed seventh out of 20 competing teams. Their performance was particularly strong in individual categories, where they achieved notable rankings. The team placed ninth in oral reasons, second in the Ayrshire class, third in the Guernsey class, and fourth in the Jersey class.

Individually, Wyatt Lehner excelled by securing second place in the Guernsey class, eighth in the Ayrshire class, and 13th in oral reasoning. Meanwhile, Connor Servin distinguished himself by placing second in the Jersey class and 11th overall. These achievements reflect not only their individual capabilities but also their teamwork and commitment to excellence.
