URGENT UPDATE: A new class action lawsuit has just been filed in the Second Judicial District Court of New Mexico, targeting music superstar Drake and popular streamer Adin Ross for allegedly running an illegal online casino scheme. The lawsuit claims these defendants, alongside Sweepsteaks Limited, are misleading New Mexico residents by promoting a platform called Stake.us as a safe gaming option, while it is purportedly violating state gaming and consumer protection laws.

The plaintiffs, representing a class of individuals, assert that Stake.us functions as a “virtual clone” of the notorious Stake.com, rebranded to give the false impression of a harmless gaming environment. The lawsuit demands accountability for the losses incurred by New Mexico gamblers, seeking damages and a court order to halt these operations.

According to the complaint, Stake.us is marketed as a “social casino” that does not permit real gambling, yet uses a dual currency system where users can purchase Gold Coins with no cash-out value. Each purchase is said to yield Stake Cash, which can be wagered and cashed out for real money at a 1:1 ratio. This structure raises serious legal concerns, as the plaintiffs argue it constitutes an illegal gambling device under New Mexico law.

This legal action follows a similar lawsuit filed in Missouri, where plaintiffs claim that Stake.us, Drake, and Ross employed deceptive marketing tactics aimed at vulnerable individuals. The Missouri complaint highlights that the influencers often promote these platforms without using their own funds, misleading audiences about the legitimacy of the games.

In a live stream, Adin Ross publicly dismissed the allegations, calling them “bullsh*t.” He urged viewers to review the legal documents themselves, stating there was “nothing to talk about.” Meanwhile, Drake has yet to respond to the rising allegations against him.

A spokesperson for Stake.us commented, “We have not been served at this time… We reject allegations that have been made in the media in relation to this potential claim and will vigorously defend this and all such claims.”

The New Mexico lawsuit aims to include all residents who gambled on Stake.us and lost money in the five years prior to the filing. As this story develops, the implications for both Drake and Ross could be significant, especially as more individuals come forward with similar claims.

Stay tuned for more updates as this urgent situation unfolds, and consider the potential impact on the burgeoning online gaming industry. This case not only raises questions about legality but also highlights the need for consumer protection in the rapidly changing landscape of online gambling.
