UPDATE: A former chiropractor has been sentenced to prison for the tragic death of Thomas Joseph Krider, a beloved Elvis tribute artist. The case has shocked the Upstate New York community, where Krider, known as TJ Greene, was a cherished performer.

Krider went missing in early April 2024, last seen near a Target store in Saratoga Springs. Reports indicate he was last seen leaving with an unknown man in a white Dodge Ram. His body was later discovered inside a home in Milton, New York, prompting a significant investigation.

Authorities identified Ronald G. Rayher, 71, as the individual responsible. Rayher was charged with manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence after he allegedly admitted that Krider died during a consensual encounter involving homemade chloroform. Instead of seeking help, Rayher left Krider’s body in his basement for several days, attempted to dispose of evidence, and sent deceptive messages from Krider’s phone.

In May, Rayher was found guilty of second-degree manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence. This week, he received the maximum sentence of 5 to 15 years in state prison for manslaughter, along with 1 to 4 years for evidence tampering, to run concurrently, according to the Saratoga County Court.

The emotional impact of Krider’s death has rippled through the community. Friends and fans remember him not only for his talent but also for his vibrant spirit. Krider was a prominent figure in the local entertainment scene, particularly through his performances at the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour in Ticonderoga.

Residents and fans are left mourning a loss that is both shocking and heartbreaking. The case has raised questions about safety and accountability in personal relationships, particularly concerning vulnerable individuals.

As the community grapples with this tragedy, attention turns to the implications of Rayher’s actions and the memory of a beloved artist. The story continues to unfold, and those affected are urged to share their memories of Krider to honor his legacy.

Stay tuned for further developments in this heartbreaking case.
