DoorDash Driver Arrested After Filming Naked Man in Oswego
URGENT UPDATE: A 23-year-old DoorDash delivery driver has been arrested after filming a naked man in a private residence in Oswego, New York. The incident, which occurred last month, has sparked outrage and a social media frenzy.
On an ordinary delivery, Olivia Henderson arrived at a customer’s home only to find the front door ajar and a man sprawled out, naked from the waist down. Shocked and unsure of the situation, Henderson began recording the scene, believing it might be a case of sexual misconduct. Her video quickly went viral on TikTok, where she expressed her feelings of victimization.
Henderson’s posts gained traction as she accused the Oswego police of inaction and criticized DoorDash for deactivating her account. “I WAS WORKING!” she exclaimed in one emotional video, highlighting her frustration that she felt punished while the man faced no consequences.
However, DoorDash clarified that the deactivation resulted from Henderson’s decision to film a customer in his home, not for reporting the incident. The company stated unequivocally that they do not penalize drivers for reporting sexual assault.
As public interest grew, police concluded their investigation, revealing that the man was simply intoxicated and had passed out. Authorities confirmed that his actions did not constitute a crime or sexual assault. Rather, they deemed Henderson’s filming of the incident as unlawful.
The police charged Henderson with two felonies: unlawful surveillance and dissemination of an unlawful surveillance image. She has since been released pending a court date but has notably gone silent on social media regarding the incident.
This alarming case underscores the complex intersection of privacy, consent, and the responsibilities of individuals in the age of social media. As this story develops, the implications for both DoorDash and its drivers remain to be seen.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor this situation and provide updates on Henderson’s legal proceedings and the broader conversation surrounding privacy rights in digital spaces.
