Dunwoody Secures Top-10 Spot in 2025 Digital Cities Survey
URGENT UPDATE: The City of Dunwoody has just been recognized as one of the top-10 cities in the 2025 Digital Cities Survey, showcasing its groundbreaking use of technology to enhance public services. This prestigious award, presented by the Center for Digital Government (CDG), highlights cities that prioritize cybersecurity, governance transparency, and digital equity.
This accolade holds significant weight as it marks a critical achievement for Dunwoody, a city with a population of 51,844. The recognition was announced during the National League of Cities “City Summit” in Salt Lake City, where Dunwoody stood out among cities with populations of up to 75,000.
Officials praised Dunwoody for its innovative strides in transparency and community engagement. “What stands out this year isn’t just the technology; it’s the focus on the impact on constituent services,” stated Teri Takai, Chief Programs Officer at the CDG. “These cities are applying innovation where it matters most: keeping people housed, making streets safer, and building community trust.”
Dunwoody has implemented practical solutions that resonate with residents, such as launching an open checkbook, creating an online records portal, and utilizing SeeClickFix to streamline service requests. These initiatives enhance communication, with new digital signage and various platforms ensuring residents are well-informed.
The city’s commitment to public safety is highlighted through its cutting-edge Real-Time Crime Center. This facility integrates data from advanced technologies including Flock Safety drones, Live911, and ForceMetrics AI, which significantly improve situational awareness and response times. “Being recognized nationally affirms that our efforts are making a difference here at home,” expressed Ginger LePage, Dunwoody’s Technology Director, underlining her pride in the team’s dedication to harnessing technology for the benefit of the community.
The CDG also emphasized Dunwoody’s impressive transformation of its IT infrastructure. The city has executed a significant network overhaul and transitioned major systems to the cloud. Additionally, a citywide business resiliency plan has been established to ensure consistent service across all departments. “This award highlights how our commitment to innovation directly strengthens services for our residents,” stated Eric Linton, Dunwoody City Manager.
As Dunwoody celebrates this prestigious recognition, the emphasis on technology’s role in enhancing public services continues to grow. Residents can expect ongoing improvements that not only elevate their quality of life but also foster a stronger community connection.
