Freshman Logyn Greer Shines in CU Buffs’ 77-45 Victory
UPDATE: In a stunning display of talent, freshman Logyn Greer led the CU Buffs to a commanding 77-45 victory over Portland State during a women’s basketball game on November 16, 2025, at the CU Events Center in Boulder, Colorado. This decisive win marks a significant moment for the Buffs, who showcased both exceptional defense and a cohesive offensive effort.
Greer, a standout player this season, scored a season-high 19 points and grabbed six rebounds, propelling Colorado (2-1) to a commanding lead. The Buffs outscored the Vikings 22-13 in the third quarter, extending their halftime advantage from 14 points to 23 before the final period.
“This was my best game of the season,” Greer shared. “I was able to really get into the rhythm and play with pace.” The 6-foot-4 forward’s performance has been praised by CU women’s basketball coach JR Payne, who noted, “Logyn is the type of player that turns heads when she walks into the gym. The sky’s the limit for her.”
The Buffs’ defense was a crucial factor in the game, stifling the Vikings’ offense and forcing an impressive 26 turnovers. The team recorded 18 steals, the highest total since November 28, 2023. Walker, contributing significantly to this effort, led the team with five steals and provided six assists.
“Turning defense into offense was our key focus,” Walker stated after the game. “Once we found our rhythm, we capitalized on every opportunity.”
The Buffs dominated the boards, out-rebounding Portland State 39-24, with a remarkable 29-8 advantage in the second half alone. Anaelle Dutat contributed 10 rebounds while also scoring six points, showcasing the team’s depth and resilience.
Next up, the Buffs will face Boise State at the CU Events Center on Tuesday at 7 p.m. (ESPN+), where they aim to build on this momentum. Coach Payne emphasized the importance of both learning from this game and celebrating their achievements. “We had players step up in unexpected roles, and that’s a great sign for our team’s future,” he remarked.
The game also featured a special moment as the Buffs honored former star point guard Jaylyn Sherrod, who now plays for the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx, with a spot on the Wall of Honor at the CU Events Center. Sherrod is celebrated as the first Buff to win a WNBA championship in 2024.
As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Logyn Greer and the Buffs as they prepare to face new challenges ahead. With their impressive performance today, fans are left eager for more action from the CU women’s basketball team.
