UPDATE: A Knox County man, Randall Fairchild Myers, 52, has been sentenced to an extraordinary 56 years in prison for the aggravated rape and incest of a 13-year-old child. This urgent sentencing, confirmed by the District Attorney, comes as a direct consequence of heinous acts committed during the summer of 2022.

Myers, who evaded capture for over a year, was finally apprehended by U.S. Marshals in 2024 after a comprehensive manhunt. His conviction followed a trial in September where his crimes were detailed in harrowing testimony. According to District Attorney Charme Allen, “Because of the bravery of this victim and the cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies, this offender has been apprehended and held accountable for his crimes.”

The prosecution presented compelling evidence, including the victim’s testimony and admissions from Myers’ wife, Abigail Myers, who was implicated in the case for supplying alcohol and drugs to the minor. This collaborative effort by law enforcement was pivotal in securing a conviction for Myers on the charge of Aggravated Rape, a Class A felony, leading to the maximum sentence being imposed.

Myers’ case highlights the ongoing issues of child abuse and the critical role that victims’ voices play in the justice system. The District Attorney’s Office, led by Assistant District Attorneys Heather Ens and Ashley McDermott, worked diligently to ensure that justice was served.

This significant case not only underscores the importance of victim advocacy but also serves as a stark reminder of the serious consequences of such crimes. The Knox County community is urged to remain vigilant and supportive of victims as this story continues to develop.
