URGENT UPDATE: Multiple tornadoes have torn through the American South this morning, with severe thunderstorms reported across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado in southern Mississippi at 9:20 a.m. local time, shortly before emergency managers reported a twister near Pascagoula, causing significant damage to homes and businesses.

The tornado touched down just two miles from Gautier, inflicting damage on the roof of the Aztecas Restaurant & Cantina and impacting several vehicles in the parking lot. Video footage captured the chaos as the tornado wreaked havoc, showcasing the force of the storm.

In addition to the Pascagoula tornado, another rain-wrapped twister was spotted near Orange Beach, Alabama, presenting a dire situation for residents. Video shared by local weather enthusiasts depicted the alarming sight. A separate tornado was confirmed on a live traffic camera in Moss Point, Mississippi, highlighting the storm’s widespread impact.

This severe weather system, which has already led to power outages across parts of Texas, is expected to contribute to a larger, more violent storm impacting the East Coast just in time for Halloween. According to FOX Weather, both Euro and GFS models indicate rain affecting areas from the Carolinas to the Northeast on Thursday and Friday, although exact forecasts are still pending.

Residents along the Gulf Coast are advised to stay vigilant as further tornado warnings remain in effect. The National Weather Service continues to monitor conditions closely, urging everyone to prepare for potential severe weather.

This developing situation highlights the urgent need for caution in affected areas. Stay tuned for updates as this story unfolds.
