Netflix Secures Exclusive Deal for Pardon My Take in 2026
UPDATE: Netflix has just announced a groundbreaking deal to become the exclusive home of the hit podcast Pardon My Take, effective January 2026. The popular Barstool Sports show will transition from YouTube to Netflix, marking a significant shift in the podcasting landscape.
This major change comes after Pardon My Take has enjoyed tremendous success on YouTube, where it has amassed 659,000 subscribers and frequently garners hundreds of thousands of views per episode. Fans of the podcast will still be able to access it on audio platforms like Spotify and Apple, but the visual component will be locked exclusively on Netflix.
During a recent episode, host Dan “Big Cat” Katz expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “In 2026, January, we don’t have the exact date, but we have come to a deal with Netflix. It’s a big deal for the podcast. It’s surreal.” Katz highlighted the implications of this move for both the podcast and its production team, emphasizing that it will allow for broader compensation opportunities.
Co-host Eric “PFT” Sollenberger echoed Katz’s enthusiasm, saying, “Netflix sounds like they’re going to be a great partner.” The excitement surrounding this deal signals a promising future for Pardon My Take as it integrates with a platform that is rapidly expanding its video podcast offerings.
This strategic move is part of Netflix’s broader initiative to enhance its podcast portfolio. Alongside Pardon My Take, other popular Barstool programs such as The Ryen Russillo Podcast and Spittin Chiclets will also make the switch to the streaming giant. This follows the recent acquisition of Ryen Russillo, a key figure in the podcasting world, who joined Barstool earlier in 2025.
In addition to Barstool’s lineup, Netflix has secured a deal with Spotify that will bring various shows from The Ringer to its platform, including the well-known Bill Simmons Podcast and others like The Zach Lowe Show and The McShay Show.
This momentous shift not only reflects the growing popularity of podcasts but also underscores Netflix’s commitment to diversifying its content offerings. With Pardon My Take now set to join its ranks, viewers can anticipate a new era of comedy and sports commentary on the streaming service.
As fans eagerly await this transition, the podcasting community is buzzing with the potential impact of this deal. The move could redefine how audiences engage with their favorite shows and how content creators are compensated in the evolving media landscape.
Stay tuned for further updates as we approach the launch of Pardon My Take on Netflix in January 2026.
