Stephen Curry Out for 3rd Straight Game Due to Illness
UPDATE: Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry will miss his third consecutive game due to an illness, just confirmed two hours before tip-off against the Indiana Pacers on November 5, 2023. This situation raises concerns for the Warriors as they struggle with a 5-5 record after a promising start to the season.
Curry’s illness emerged following a recent road trip that included games in Indianapolis and Milwaukee. Although he played through discomfort in a previous home win over the Phoenix Suns, he admitted his energy levels were critically low during the second half. After sitting out the Warriors’ two road losses to Sacramento and Denver, Curry was initially listed as questionable for today’s game. However, Warriors coach Steve Kerr announced a cautious approach from the medical staff, officially ruling him out.
This absence puts additional pressure on a Warriors team that has lost four out of their last five games, including an alarming eight straight without Curry in the lineup, dating back to the playoffs. The team will face a Pacers squad that is also struggling, having recently dropped to 1-8 after a loss to the Denver Nuggets. Notably, the Pacers are missing key players, including Pascal Siakam, which could impact the game’s dynamics.
Looking ahead, Curry is scheduled for a practice session this evening followed by another workout on Monday morning. Kerr expressed hope that if Curry responds well, he may return for the Warriors’ next game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the first of a challenging five-city, six-game road trip.
As fans closely monitor Curry’s recovery, the urgency grows for the Warriors to regain their momentum and restore their early-season success. This developing story will continue to unfold, and updates will be provided as they become available.
