Woman Struck by 18-Wheeler on Capital Boulevard, Traffic Disrupted
UPDATE: A woman is recovering in the hospital after being struck by an 18-wheeler early Saturday morning in northeast Raleigh. The incident occurred just before 6:30 a.m. at the 3700 block of Capital Boulevard, right in front of a Circle K convenience store.
Witnesses reported the woman was conscious and alert when officers arrived on the scene. She was able to communicate with responding authorities before being transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance. The driver of the truck remained on-site, and the Raleigh Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Traffic in the area has been significantly disrupted, with the North Carolina Department of Transportation notifying drivers that part of Capital Boulevard is closed near Greywood Drive for much of Saturday morning. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes as the investigation continues.
