Walmart Shoppers Disappointed as Limited Mac & Cheese Box Sells Out Instantly
Walmart customers expressed frustration after the highly anticipated limited-edition “Mac Friday Box” by Kraft sold out within seconds of its release. This novelty item, which resembled a 65-inch flat-screen television and contained 65 boxes of classic Kraft Mac & Cheese, was made available on the Walmart website at midnight on November 24, 2023. Priced at $19.37—a nod to the year Kraft was founded—the box offered an appealing deal, making each individual box cost just 30 cents.
The product’s promotion ahead of Black Friday attracted significant attention, especially from social media influencers like Zach Ciampa, who runs the account “Snack with Zach.” Many shoppers were eager to purchase the novelty item, with some reportedly spending hours waiting on the Walmart website to secure their order.
Despite their efforts, many customers were left disappointed as the item sold out almost immediately. One frustrated shopper recounted, “I literally had it in my cart and it sold out while I was hitting the finish button—what even.” Another lamented, “I’m so sad, stayed up for this, and I literally have to work tomorrow.” The sense of discontent was palpable in the comments, with one user noting, “Sounds like no one in the comment section even got a chance to buy one. It’s probably going to resell for hundreds more.”
As of Friday morning, a search for the Mac Friday Box on the Walmart website returned a message stating, “We couldn’t find this page.” This has further fueled speculation about the item’s potential resale value, with many anticipating that it will appear on secondary markets at inflated prices.
The combination of novelty, limited availability, and a bargain price created a perfect storm for enthusiastic shoppers. However, the rapid sell-out has sparked discussions about the challenges consumers face when vying for highly sought-after products during peak shopping events like Black Friday.
