Trump Demands Massie Be ‘Thrown Out’ Amid GOP Infighting
URGENT UPDATE: President Donald Trump has escalated tensions within the Republican Party, demanding that Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) be “thrown out of office” in a fiery post on Truth Social just moments ago. This latest attack follows Trump’s criticism of fellow Republican Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), as he continues to assert his influence over the party.
Trump’s post comes amid a backdrop of growing discontent among GOP members, as he labeled Massie a “weak and pathetic RINO” and expressed his desire for Naval veteran and farmer Captain Ed Gallrein to challenge Massie in the upcoming elections. “The incredible people of Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District gave us a mandate to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” Trump declared. He emphasized that Gallrein is a “true America First Patriot” who would better represent the interests of the district.
In his post, Trump claimed that Massie’s poll numbers have plummeted to just 9%, stating, “The Great People of Kentucky are wise to him.” He criticized Massie for allegedly siding with the “Radical Left” and failing to uphold Republican values. Trump’s endorsement of Gallrein signals a possible shift in support within the party as he seeks to consolidate power ahead of the 2024 elections.
Trump didn’t stop there; he also announced the commutation of former New York congressman George Santos, a convicted fraudster, drawing parallels to Massie’s perceived shortcomings. “George Santos was somewhat of a ‘rogue,’ but there are many rogues throughout our Country that aren’t forced to serve seven years in prison,” Trump argued, invoking a controversial rationale for Santos’ release.
This internal GOP feud highlights the growing rift within the party, as Massie has openly disagreed with Trump on critical issues including fiscal conservatism and government spending. The escalating tensions could have significant implications for Republican unity as the party gears up for the next election cycle.
Amidst the turmoil, families across the nation face the looming consequence of a government shutdown, which threatens vital resources such as school lunches. Recent analyses warn that food-insecure children may suffer the most, as federal funding for these essential programs remains uncertain.
As the political landscape shifts, all eyes will be on Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District and the potential candidacy of Captain Ed Gallrein. Will he step up to challenge Massie as Trump hopes? The coming weeks will be critical for both the candidates and the GOP as they navigate this heated environment.
What’s Next: Watch for Gallrein’s decision on entering the race and any further reactions from Massie and other Republican leaders. The implications of Trump’s endorsement and the fallout from the ongoing government funding crisis will continue to evolve as the situation develops.
