Jaguars Center Robert Hainsey Active for Wembley Clash with Rams
The Jacksonville Jaguars welcomed back center Robert Hainsey for their matchup against the Los Angeles Rams at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. Hainsey, a team captain, returned to practice following a hamstring injury that sidelined him during last week’s 20-12 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. His absence was felt, with the Jaguars struggling to find rhythm on offense.
In Hainsey’s absence, the Jaguars managed only 59 rushing yards, and quarterback Trevor Lawrence faced a relentless Rams defense, resulting in a career-high seven sacks. With Hainsey back in the lineup, the Jaguars hoped to improve their offensive performance against Los Angeles.
Despite Hainsey’s return, the Jaguars faced additional challenges. Linebacker Devin Lloyd, recognized as the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for September, did not travel with the team due to a calf injury. Tight end Quintin Morris was also absent, having sustained a groin injury. Other inactives for Jacksonville included safety Kahlef Hailassie, running back Cody Schrader, offensive lineman Wyatt Milum, and defensive tackle Khalen Saunders Sr..
On the Rams’ side, star wide receiver Puka Nacua was ruled out earlier in the week due to an ankle injury. Right tackle Rob Havenstein also did not participate, dealing with his own ankle issue. The Rams’ inactive roster included quarterback Stetson Bennett IV, running back Jarquez Hunter, offensive lineman Beaux Limmer, and defensive end Desjuan Johnson.
As both teams took the field at Wembley, the stakes were high. With key players missing and others returning from injury, the outcome could have significant implications for the Jaguars’ season. Fans at Wembley Stadium anticipated a competitive game as the Jaguars sought to bounce back from their recent loss and the Rams aimed to build momentum.
The match not only showcased international talent but also underscored the growing popularity of American football outside the United States, especially in iconic venues like Wembley Stadium.
