Taylor Sheridan’s “Lioness” Starts Filming Season 3 in Texas
Production for the highly anticipated Season 3 of Taylor Sheridan’s espionage drama, Lioness, has officially commenced in downtown Fort Worth, Texas. Filming began on October 23, 2023, at 18:30 local time, marking a significant milestone for one of Sheridan’s most acclaimed yet underrated shows. City officials confirmed that road closures were implemented in the area, affecting Main Street between 5th and 6th, Main Street between 7th and 8th, and 8th Street between Main and Houston. The closures were in effect until the early hours of October 24, 2023.
Fans of the series can expect to see the return of prominent stars including Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldaña, and Morgan Freeman, who reprise their roles in the upcoming season. A notable addition to the cast is Ian Bohen, recognized for his role as Ryan in all five seasons of Yellowstone. Bohen will portray Grady, a Delta Force operator and K9 handler, characterized as a meticulous professional skilled in battlefield tactics. His role as a series regular will ensure he appears in every episode of the new season.
Fort Worth Becomes a Hub for Sheridan Productions
The decision to film in Fort Worth aligns with Sheridan’s ongoing commitment to the region. In addition to Lioness, his project Landman is also underway in the area, featuring prominent shooting locations such as Frost Tower, the Worthington Renaissance Hotel, and Texas Christian University. Sheridan has plans to establish a long-term presence in Texas, having recently leased two substantial studio spaces in Fort Worth through a partnership with Hillwood, a property development firm.
In a move that underscores his investment in the area, plans for a new mega-studio, which is set to be eight times larger than the existing 450,000-square-foot facility, are already in progress. This new studio will include multiple sound stages and comprehensive production amenities, positioning Fort Worth as a central hub for Sheridan’s expanding television empire.
While there has been no official announcement from Paramount regarding a release date for Season 3, it is anticipated that production will continue through early 2026. Based on the release patterns of the first two seasons, which debuted in July 2023 and October 2024, viewers can likely expect Season 3 to premiere in the latter half of 2026.
As anticipation builds, fans can catch up on the first two seasons of Lioness, now streaming on Paramount+. Keep an eye on Collider for the latest updates regarding the series and its exciting developments.
