Charlie Puth is set to perform at the upcoming Global Citizen Festival: Amazônia on November 1, 2024, in Belém, Brazil. This festival aims to raise awareness and funds to protect and restore the Amazon rainforest, emphasizing the importance of indigenous voices and local communities in this critical environmental effort.
Joining Puth on stage are several other renowned artists, including Brazilian stars Anitta, Seu Jorge, Gilberto Gil, and Gaby Amarantos, as well as Chris Martin from Coldplay. The event will be hosted at the Estádio Olímpico, known as Mangueirão, and will feature additional performances by Eric Terena, Kae Guajajara, and Djuena Tikunal. The pre-show will include Brazilian singer Vivi Batidão, with presenters such as Regina Casé, Mel Fronckowiak, Hugo Gloss, and Isabelle Nogueira.
During his announcement, Puth expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m honored to be part of such an important cause for our planet and can’t wait to see you on November 1st.” This reflects the festival’s mission to engage global audiences in environmental advocacy and raise $1 billion to support conservation efforts in the Amazon.
The festival will also focus on achieving a zero carbon footprint, aligning with Global Citizen’s broader campaign to protect the Amazon rainforest. Attendees can expect a vibrant atmosphere, with live broadcasts planned across Brazil on Globo and a streaming option available at 6 p.m. ET on the day of the event.
The Global Citizen Festival: Amazônia follows a tradition of using music as a platform for social change, gathering artists and activists to address pressing global issues. This event not only highlights the cultural richness of Brazil but also serves as a call to action for concertgoers and viewers alike to contribute to the preservation of one of the world’s most vital ecosystems.
As the date approaches, anticipation builds for this star-studded event, which promises both entertainment and a powerful message about environmental stewardship.
