IVE’s Leeseo Opts Out of 2026 College Entrance Exams to Focus on Career
IVE member Leeseo has announced that she will not participate in the 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT). This decision, communicated through reports from Herald POP, comes after a period of reflection on her priorities amidst her ongoing career in the entertainment industry. Leeseo joins fellow group members Jang Wonyoung and Liz, who have also chosen to forgo the examination in favor of pursuing their professional aspirations.
Starship Entertainment, the agency representing IVE, has expressed its commitment to supporting Leeseo’s decision. They indicated that she will have the opportunity to reconsider her academic path in the future, particularly when she feels ready to focus on her college education. This approach reflects a broader trend among young idols who often prioritize their careers over traditional educational milestones.
Public response to Leeseo’s choice has been largely supportive. Many fans and netizens have voiced their understanding, suggesting that it may be more beneficial for her to take the exam later to avoid distractions for other students. Comments on social media highlight concerns that her presence at the test site could attract excessive media attention and disrupt the experience for those who are focusing on the exam.
In a statement, one user remarked, “I’m not a senior, but I think she should take it later so as not to bother the students who are taking it.” Others echoed similar sentiments, with comments reflecting a mix of admiration for her decision and surprise at her age, noting, “Leeseo will become an adult next year?”
Leeseo debuted as a member of IVE in 2021 and has quickly risen to prominence within the K-pop scene. The group recently completed the Seoul leg of their world tour, showcasing their growing popularity and the demands of their careers.
As the conversation continues around educational choices for young entertainers, IVE’s trajectory highlights the ongoing balancing act between career ambitions and academic commitments. While Leeseo’s decision may not align with conventional expectations, it underscores a shifting perspective on what success looks like for young artists in the industry today.
