Wellness Patch Brand Half Past 8 Launches Direct-to-Consumer
A new brand, Half Past 8, has made its debut in the wellness industry, offering a range of transdermal patches designed to address common health concerns for on-the-go consumers. Available for purchase directly through its website and at Printemps in New York City, Half Past 8 aims to simplify wellness routines with three innovative products: Deep Sleep, Energy & Focus, and Stress & Mood, each priced at $52.
The founders of Half Past 8, Meto, who previously established a private training gym in Los Angeles, and Kyle Pierce, a health tech entrepreneur, were inspired to create this brand following the arrival of their son last year. “Life all of a sudden changed: less sleep, low energy, a lot of stress,” Meto explained. They found themselves overwhelmed by traditional wellness solutions like pills and powders, which were often difficult to remember and maintain.
Meto and Pierce envisioned a brand that would offer premium wellness solutions that fit seamlessly into busy lifestyles. “The idea was, how do we simplify wellness now that our lives have changed?” Kyle noted. The patches utilize advanced transdermal technology, allowing active ingredients to be absorbed directly into the bloodstream over an eight-hour period. This method bypasses the digestive tract, which can diminish the effectiveness of conventional supplements.
Patches are gaining popularity as consumers seek alternatives to traditional forms of supplements. “These patches use a set of ingredients specifically formulated to absorb through your skin,” Kyle stated. The Deep Sleep patch, for instance, contains 5 mg of melatonin, which many people tend to overconsume through other forms. “When you’re digesting a gummy or taking a pill, it has to go through your digestive tract, which means you’re mostly absorbing nothing,” Kyle highlighted.
Testing the efficacy of the patches has been a priority for Half Past 8. Meto enlisted clients from his gym, including a network of hair and makeup artists who travel frequently, to trial the products. “They are the people who are calling me, ‘Hey, can you get me more sleeping patches or energy patches?’” he shared. The positive feedback from these testers has been significant, with many reporting noticeable improvements in their wellness metrics.
In addition to leveraging word-of-mouth marketing, Half Past 8 plans to utilize digital platforms to educate consumers on the benefits and functions of their patches. Kyle expressed optimism about the future of this delivery format, citing trend forecasts from Korea indicating that patches will be a leading trend in wellness over the next five years. “We hope to be the leaders of that in the U.S. market,” he remarked.
A key differentiator for Half Past 8 is its commitment to providing effective dosages, as many competing patch brands focus on aesthetics with smaller dosages that may not deliver desired results. The founders are already looking ahead, with plans to introduce a weight management patch in early 2026, along with additional product formats that align with their vision of convenient wellness.
“Our entire product development thesis is around wellness that moves with you and fits into your life,” Kyle explained. He envisions a future where wellness products are as portable and accessible as everyday items, such as mints, providing instant relief without the need for pills or powders.
With its unique approach and focus on modern lifestyles, Half Past 8 is poised to make a significant impact in the wellness industry, catering to consumers seeking effective, convenient solutions for their health needs.
