Beta Cinema has successfully secured a series of significant international presales for the much-anticipated sequel, Operation Napoleon – Tears of the Wolf. Currently in production across Finland, Iceland, and Germany, this Nordic conspiracy thriller is generating considerable buzz in the film industry.

Magnolia Pictures has acquired the distribution rights for North America, while key deals have also been finalized for the UK and Ireland with Signature Entertainment, for France through Mediawan, for Spain with Twelve Oaks, and for Poland with Hagi Film. The original Operation Napoleon film was a notable success, selling in over 40 territories and achieving significant box office results in Germany in 2023.

The sequel brings back familiar faces, including Vivian Ólafsdóttir from It Hatched, Jack Fox from Riviera, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, known for roles in Severance and True Detective. Directing the sequel is Jyri Kähoönen, whose prior work includes Trackers and Bordertown. The screenplay is penned by the original writer Marteinn Thorisson along with Tom Weston-Jones, known for his contributions to True Things and Warrior.

New to the cast is Laura Birn, who has appeared in projects such as Void and Foundation. In this installment, Ólafsdóttir reprises her role as Kristin Jóhannesdóttir, a lawyer who becomes embroiled in an international conspiracy after being wrongfully accused of murder. The storyline follows Kristin and her team as they search for the legendary “Tears of the Wolf,” a cache of hidden Nazi diamonds from World War II.

As the plot unfolds, Kristin uncovers encrypted codes and musical clues, leading her team across the dramatic landscapes of Iceland, Finland, and Germany. The climax of the film takes place in the historic wartime bunkers of Helsinki and the Finnish archipelago, promising a thrilling conclusion.

Production is being led by Anita Elsani and Alexander Klein of Germany’s Splendid Entertainment, alongside Kjartan Thor Thordarson of Sagafilm—representing Sweden and Iceland—and Eero Hietala and Sara Norberg from Take Two Studios in Finland. Co-production efforts are also being managed by Elsani Film.

The film is set to be released theatrically in Iceland by Sam Film, in Germany by Splendid Film, and in Finland by Cinemanse. Beta Cinema is showcasing the first promotional reel of Operation Napoleon – Tears of the Wolf at the American Film Market this week, further highlighting the excitement surrounding this project.

With a blend of suspense, historical intrigue, and familiar talent, the sequel to Operation Napoleon is poised to capture the attention of audiences worldwide.
