Brandi Carlile Set to Host ‘SNL’ as Miles Teller Faces Haircut Jibe
Brandi Carlile will host this weekend’s episode of *Saturday Night Live*, stepping in as a surprise replacement for actor Miles Teller. The announcement comes after a promotional video released by *SNL* featured Carlile in a lively exchange with Teller and cast member Ashley Padilla.
In the promo, Padilla confronts Teller over his failure to acknowledge her new haircut, exclaiming, “I got a haircut, and you haven’t said anything about it!” Teller, who starred in *Top Gun: Maverick*, responds with a hint of confusion, “Yeah, sorry, I think I didn’t notice, Ashley, because we’ve never met before.” The humorous exchange takes a turn when Carlile, an eleven-time Grammy-winning artist, interjects to compliment Padilla on her new look, saying, “I noticed. The second I saw you, I knew you had that new-haircut glow.”
Padilla then declares, “Thank you, Brandi Carlile! You’re the host now,” to which Carlile enthusiastically replies, “Yesssss.” Teller appears taken aback, questioning if Padilla is joking, but cast member Andrew Dismukes assures him she is serious. The promo concludes with a playful jab from Dismukes: “I hope you can sing,” to which Teller responds, “I can sing.” His singing ability has been previously showcased when country star Keith Urban invited him onstage to perform at a concert in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2016.
Brandi Carlile’s Musical Return to SNL
This weekend marks Carlile’s fourth appearance as a musical guest on *SNL* and her second this year, following a performance alongside Elton John in April 2023. She is set to promote her newly released solo album, *Returning to Myself*. The album showcases her distinctive voice and songwriting skills, further solidifying her place in the music industry.
Miles Teller, meanwhile, is hosting *SNL* for the second time, having made his debut in 2022. His return coincides with the upcoming release of his latest film, *Eternity*, a sci-fi romantic comedy co-starring Elizabeth Olsen and Callum Turner. The film is slated to premiere in theaters on November 26, 2023.
Both Carlile and Teller bring unique talents to the show, promising an entertaining episode of *Saturday Night Live*, which airs at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on NBC and streams on Peacock.
With Carlile taking the helm as host, viewers can expect an engaging mix of music and comedy, as the artist continues to make waves in the entertainment industry.
