Celebrities Gear Up for 2025 TCS New York City Marathon
Stars from various entertainment sectors are set to participate in the upcoming 2025 TCS New York City Marathon on November 2, 2025. Among the notable participants is Oliver Phelps, known for his role as George Weasley in the Harry Potter films. This will mark his first marathon. He recently shared his surprise at the challenge, stating, “To be honest, I’ve never run really in my life,” during a September interview on talkSPORT.
While training for the marathon, Phelps has been joined by other actors such as Anthony Ramos from *In the Heights*, Claire Holt from *The Originals*, and Lauren Ridloff from *Eternals*. The event will also see participation from several stars of the reality television franchise Bachelor Nation, including Joey Graziadei, Tyler Cameron, Matt James, and Tayshia Adams. Adams, who has previously run the marathon, expressed her excitement on Instagram, saying, “I’m strong, I’m resilient, and honestly… I’m apparently a little crazy because this is my 3rd marathon.”
The race will feature a mix of personalities from various backgrounds, including reality stars from *Love Island USA* like Bryan Arenales, Nic Vansteenberghe, and Elan Bibas, alongside Phil Keoghan of *The Amazing Race* and Nev Schulman from *Catfish*.
Past Celebrity Marathon Participants
The New York City Marathon has become a popular event for celebrities over the years. Harry Styles has previously completed marathons in Tokyo and Berlin, showcasing his commitment to running. Meanwhile, Claire Holt shared her reflections after finishing the 2024 Chicago Marathon. She revealed her struggles during training, stating, “I woke up at 4 a.m. all summer to train for this race. It was really hard.” Her efforts contributed to raising over $100,000 for Boston Children’s Hospital, addressing mental health issues.
Other celebrities who have participated in marathons include Cynthia Erivo, who completed the 2022 London Marathon in 3 hours and 35 minutes, and Ashton Kutcher, who raised over $400,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation during the 2021 New York City Marathon.
The marathon is not just a test of physical endurance but also a platform for raising awareness and funds for various charitable causes. Ryan Reynolds ran the New York City Marathon in 2008, finishing in 3 hours and 50 minutes, motivated by his father’s battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Marathon Participation and Impact
Marathons have become a significant way for public figures to engage with their fans while contributing to meaningful causes. As evident from the experiences shared by Will Ferrell, who completed the Boston Marathon in 2003, and Tayshia Adams, whose journey emphasizes resilience and strength, these events foster a sense of community and collective achievement.
The participation of celebrities in marathons continues to inspire their fans and promote fitness and philanthropy. As the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon approaches, the excitement builds not only for the race itself but also for the stories and causes that will unfold along the 26.2-mile course.
