Gabriel Sherman Joins Cinetic, Expanding Talent Roster
Cinetic, a prominent talent management and media advisory firm, has signed acclaimed screenwriter and bestselling author Gabriel Sherman. Known for his insightful exploration of the relationship between politics and media, Sherman’s recent work includes the original screenplay for the acclaimed film The Apprentice, which garnered Oscar nominations for performances by Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong.
Sherman’s career showcases a blend of screenwriting and literary success. His bestselling book, The Loudest Voice in the Room, provided a detailed account of the inner workings of Fox News. The book was adapted into a limited series for Showtime, which received a Golden Globe for Russell Crowe‘s portrayal of Fox News founder Roger Ailes. The series also featured performances from Seth MacFarlane and Sienna Miller.
In addition to his cinematic achievements, Sherman contributed as a writer for the ABC drama Alaska Daily, which stars Hilary Swank. He is currently developing several film and television projects in collaboration with Amazon, North Road, and Joseph Cedar, an Oscar-nominated director known for works like Footnote and Norman.
Future Projects and Continued Representation
Beyond his work in television and film, Sherman serves as a special correspondent for Vanity Fair. His second book, a biography of Rupert Murdoch‘s family, is scheduled for publication by Simon & Schuster in 2024. This new venture adds to his already impressive repertoire, further establishing his influence in the media landscape.
While partnering with Cinetic, Sherman will continue to be represented by WME and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz. His signing reflects Cinetic’s strategy of expanding its roster, which includes a diverse array of acclaimed writers, directors, and emerging talent. Notable figures currently represented by Cinetic include Richard Linklater, David Gordon Green, Todd Haynes, and documentary filmmakers such as Matthew Heineman and Kevin Macdonald.
As Sherman embarks on this new chapter with Cinetic, the industry will undoubtedly watch closely to see how his unique insights and storytelling prowess continue to shape both film and television narratives.
