Caitlyn Scott Sworn in as Georgia Attorney in Celebrated Ceremony
Valdosta native Caitlyn Charlise Scott has officially been sworn in as a Georgia attorney after successfully passing the July 2025 Georgia Bar Examination. The ceremony took place at the Lowndes County Judicial Complex, officiated by Superior Court Judge William Whitesell, and was attended by a supportive crowd of family, mentors, and community leaders.
Expressing her excitement, Scott stated, “Being sworn in as a Georgia attorney is an incredible honor. It reflects not only years of study and service, but also the support of my family, professors, and community.” At just 23 years old, she is eager to inspire others while forging a career dedicated to justice, advocacy, and leadership.
Legal Experience and Academic Achievements
Currently, Scott holds the position of Judicial Law Clerk for the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana, based in New Orleans. Her legal background includes internships with the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Mississippi in Jackson and the Northern District of Georgia in Atlanta.
A graduate of Mississippi College School of Law, Scott earned her Juris Doctor in May 2025, where she was recognized with the CALI Award for Best Academic Paper and named Trailblazer of the Year. Her leadership roles included serving as president of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), chairing the elections committee, and participating in the Moot Court competition, along with being a member of the Charles Clark Chapter of the American Inns of Court.
A Diverse Career Path
In addition to her legal pursuits, Scott is a managing partner at “Run Lindsay Run” Sports Consulting Agency, specializing in athlete management and contract negotiations. She is a licensed athlete agent in both Georgia and Florida and is currently seeking sports agent certification with the National Football League (NFL).
Scott’s academic journey began at the University of Georgia, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. She is also pursuing an online Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of Florida.
Scott’s commitment to her community began early. A 2019 honors graduate of Lowndes High School, she received the Langdale Legal Scholarship and the Outstanding Youth Leader award from the Valdosta/Lowndes Metropolitan National Council of Negro Women (NCNW). She is the daughter of Lindsay and Ronda Scott of Valdosta and the granddaughter of Johnnie Mae Scott of Jesup and Charlie Mae Cross of Homerville.
Caitlyn Scott’s achievements highlight the potential of young legal professionals, and her journey serves as an inspiration to many in her hometown and beyond.
