Community Mourns as S. Chris “Sonny” Nicosia Passes at 86
S. Chris “Sonny” Nicosia, a respected figure in the Lake Elmo community, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 86. His legacy includes a dedicated career as a businessman and public servant, as well as a cherished family life. Nicosia’s passing brings sorrow to those who knew him, particularly his family and friends.
Nicosia was preceded in death by his children, Bobby, Dawn, and Kristi, as well as his sister, Tanny Armstrong. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Roxanne, and his daughter, Lynne. The family also includes numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reflecting the strong familial bonds that defined Nicosia’s life.
A Life of Service and Community Engagement
Chris Nicosia was not only a loving husband and father but also an influential member of his community. He owned and operated several businesses throughout his career and served as a St. Paul City Councilman in the 1980s. His contributions extended to the St. Paul Port Authority, where he worked to support local economic development.
Nicosia enjoyed various activities outside of his professional life. He had a passion for spending time at the cabin, traveling, golfing, and watching NASCAR. His love for socializing with family and friends was evident, as he frequently gathered with loved ones to create lasting memories.
Community Recognition and Support
The family wishes to express gratitude to Lakeview Hospice and Care Apparent for their exceptional care during Chris Nicosia’s final days. Their support, along with visits from friends and relatives, provided comfort and love during a challenging time.
A memorial service to celebrate Nicosia’s life will take place on December 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The event will be held at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center located at 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear, MN. A visitation will precede the service, starting one hour earlier, allowing friends and family to pay their respects.
Nicosia’s passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of those who knew him. His contributions to the community and his unwavering dedication to his family will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
