Cardinals and Jaguars Face Major Injury Challenges Ahead of Week 12
The Arizona Cardinals and Jacksonville Jaguars have released their injury reports ahead of the Week 12 matchup, revealing significant player absences. A total of 29 players are listed between the two teams, with ten athletes not participating in practice. As the NFL season progresses, these injury reports become crucial in assessing team readiness and strategy.
Arizona Cardinals Injury Update
The Cardinals are grappling with multiple injuries, impacting their preparations. Notable players who did not practice include Kelvin Beachum (groin), Baron Browning (concussion), Emari Demercado (ankle), Marvin Harrison (illness), Will Hernandez (knee), and Jonah Williams (shoulder).
Before practice on Wednesday, head coach Jonathan Gannon confirmed that both Harrison and Demercado would miss the upcoming game. Harrison is still recovering from an appendectomy, while Demercado sustained his ankle injury during last Sunday’s match.
Limited participation was noted for several players, including Trey Benson (knee), who has had his 21-day window from injured reserve activated, giving him a chance to return against a tough Jaguars defense that ranks second in rushing yards allowed per game.
Jacksonville Jaguars Injury Report
The Jaguars are also dealing with injury setbacks. Players who did not practice include Yasir Abdullah (finger) and Travon Walker (knee), the latter having sustained his injury during Jacksonville’s dominating win over Los Angeles last week. Walker has emerged as a key player in their defensive lineup, known for his effective run defense.
Limited participation was reported for several Jaguars, including Travis Etienne (shoulder), Anton Harrison (knee/ankle), and Jourdan Lewis (neck). The absence of these players could impact the team’s performance as they prepare to face a Cardinals squad looking to bounce back from recent losses.
In addressing the upcoming challenge, Gannon remarked on the Jaguars’ strong performance: “They played really well from start to finish—all three phases. They’ve got a really good fourth down crew. It’s a big-time challenge for us.” He acknowledged the impressive form of the Jaguars’ quarterback and emphasized the importance of their defensive capabilities, noting their position among the top three teams in the league for takeaways.
As both teams navigate these injuries, the matchup promises to be a significant test of depth and strategy in Week 12. Fans will be watching closely to see how the rosters adjust and who will step up in this pivotal encounter.
