Former England all-rounder Chris Woakes has signed a two-year contract extension with Warwickshire, marking a significant new chapter in his career following his retirement from international cricket. Woakes’ international journey concluded after he faced challenges recovering from a dislocated shoulder, which he sustained during the final home Test against India. Despite his injury, he courageously batted with his arm in a sling during what would be his last Test appearance, finishing with a total of 62 Test caps. He also notably contributed to England’s triumphs in the ODI and T20 World Cups throughout his distinguished career, which included 217 appearances across formats.
