Former NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo has signed with the Wisconsin Herd, the G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks. This announcement, made on Sunday, marks Oladipo’s return to professional basketball after not playing in the NBA since the 2022-23 season. He was acquired from the Santa Cruz Warriors following a significant injury.

Oladipo, who suffered a torn left patellar tendon while playing for the Miami Heat during the first round of the playoffs against the Bucks in 2023, has been working to regain his form. Over the weekend, he joined the G League player pool, a step that led to his acquisition by the Herd. The Santa Cruz Warriors, having waiver priority, claimed him before trading his rights to the Bucks in exchange for a first-round pick in the 2027 G League draft.

Despite his lengthy absence from NBA games, Oladipo has remained active. He participated in several preseason games last month while with the Guangzhou Loong-Lions, a team in the Chinese Basketball Association.

Throughout his ten-year NBA career, the 33-year-old guard has demonstrated impressive stats, averaging 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game on 44% shooting. His talent was recognized with two consecutive All-Star selections in 2018 and 2019.

As Oladipo embarks on this new chapter with the Wisconsin Herd, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how he performs and whether he can regain the form that made him a standout player in the NBA. His experience and skills could prove invaluable for the Herd as they aim to compete in the upcoming G League season.
