CU Buffs Women’s Basketball Falls to Texas A&M in 59-46 Defeat
URGENT UPDATE: The Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team faced a tough loss, falling to the Texas A&M Aggies 59-46 in the final game of the North Shore Showcase on November 25, 2025, at the George Q. Cannon Activities Center in Laie, Hawaii. This defeat halts CU’s four-game win streak and raises critical concerns about their offensive performance.
In a disheartening display, the Buffs struggled offensively, shooting just 34% from the floor, including a mere 21.1% from three-point range. The team also committed a staggering 24 turnovers, significantly impacting their chances against a determined Texas A&M squad.
Texas A&M’s Ny’Ceara Pryor led the game with 23 points, six assists, and seven steals, while teammate Fatmata Janneh dominated the boards with 15 rebounds and eight points. For Colorado, Zyanna Walker was the standout player, scoring 14 points and grabbing six rebounds.
The game started poorly for Colorado, who went 0-for-5 with four turnovers in the first five minutes, trailing 10-1 early on. However, a rally led by Walker saw the Buffs surge to a 23-19 lead before halftime, ending the second quarter with a 25-24 advantage.
Despite a strong start to the third quarter, where CU built a game-high lead of 34-27, their offense went ice cold. Texas A&M capitalized on the Buffs’ struggles, launching an 18-3 run over a critical stretch, leaving Colorado unable to recover. The Buffs managed only 12 points in the final quarter.
“We need to tighten up our game and reduce those turnovers if we want to compete at this level,” said CU head coach.
Looking ahead, the Buffs will attempt to bounce back when they host Montana State on Sunday at 1:00 PM at the CU Events Center, available on ESPN+. Fans will be eager to see if CU can rectify their offensive issues and return to winning form.
As the season progresses, the Buffaloes will need to address their turnover rate and shooting efficiency to avoid further setbacks. Stay tuned for more updates as the team prepares for its next challenge.
