Disney Launches Cotino, Its First Community in Southern California
BREAKING: Disney has just unveiled its latest venture, Cotino, the first “Storyliving by Disney” community, located in Rancho Mirage, California. This innovative residential project aims to blend the magic of Disney with everyday living, and it is set to transform the landscape of luxury communities.
The official announcement highlights Disney’s commitment to creating immersive living environments that echo Walt Disney’s original vision for a futuristic community. Earlier today, reporters were given an exclusive tour of the Artisan Club, a central amenity of Cotino, which features a stunning 24-acre lake designed by Crystal Lagoons. The club includes various recreational facilities, a lakefront bar, and the much-anticipated Parr House—a real-life version of the iconic safe house from “Incredibles 2.”
Currently, only a handful of the planned 1,932 homes have been completed, but Disney has prioritized the opening of the Artisan Club to ensure that early residents can enjoy the community’s amenities right away. With annual dues in the five-figure range, the club caters to affluent Disney fans, offering exclusive experiences and facilities, including several pickleball courts.
Residents will soon be able to indulge in the magical features of the Artisan Club, which showcase Disney’s signature touch. The bar’s light fixture is made from pages of beloved Disney fairy tales, while Imagineers’ artwork adorns the walls, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
However, the launch of Cotino raises questions about accessibility for the average Disney fan. Those who cannot afford the multimillion-dollar homes may wonder if a more inclusive community, reminiscent of Walt Disney’s original EPCOT vision, will ever be realized.
While Disney has successfully created luxury communities like Celebration and Golden Oak, the economic challenges facing real estate development mean that the dream of a working-class neighborhood may remain just that—a dream.
As Cotino’s development progresses, it will also include retail and recreational elements open to the public, reflecting Disney’s intent to create a vibrant community. The excitement surrounding this project is palpable, with many eagerly anticipating what Disney has in store.
Disney’s innovative approach to community living is expected to set a new standard in the industry. For those interested in the latest developments in themed living, the future looks bright with Cotino leading the way.
Stay tuned for further updates on this groundbreaking project as it unfolds.
