Fox News Host Critiques Democrats Ahead of Major Protests
UPDATE: In a fiery assessment just ahead of the anticipated No Kings rallies on Saturday, October 7, 2023, Fox News host Jesse Watters has publicly questioned the effectiveness of Democrats in organizing protests. His comments come in the wake of last June’s massive demonstrations against President Donald Trump, which saw over 5 million participants nationwide.
Watters stated, “The Democrats, every time they do gather together, it’s not mostly peaceful,” referencing incidents from previous protests, including the BLM riots and unrest in Portland. His remarks were made during a broadcast of The Five, intensifying the spotlight on the upcoming rallies, where organizers expect around 2,500 anti-Trump events to unfold across more than 2,500 cities, a notable increase from the previous demonstrations.
The No Kings protests are a direct response to what organizers label Trump’s “authoritarian agenda,” citing increased actions from ICE, and targeting political adversaries such as former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James. They argue that these rallies are crucial for voicing dissent against escalating political oppression.
GOP Senator Roger Marshall has expressed skepticism regarding the nature of the protests, alleging they may be infiltrated by “paid actors,” including members of Antifa and groups aligned with Hamas. He commented, “Hopefully it’ll be peaceful. I doubt it,” suggesting that law enforcement measures, including the mobilization of the National Guard, may be necessary.
Watters contrasted these events with what he described as the more “organic” nature of the Tea Party, a conservative movement that emerged in 2007. He claimed, “Democrats are trying to do their little Tea Party thing,” but suggested that their efforts feel “a little more astroturfed.”
As the weekend approaches, many are watching closely to see how these protests unfold. With an expected turnout that surpasses June’s events, the No Kings rallies could become pivotal in shaping the political discourse leading up to the next election cycle.
Expect updates as the situation develops and rallies commence across the nation. Social media engagement is expected to surge as participants share their experiences and perspectives from the ground. Stay tuned for further developments on this unfolding story.
