Go Bald for a Chance to See ‘Bugonia’ Early in LA!
URGENT UPDATE: A unique opportunity to see the highly anticipated film Bugonia is happening in Los Angeles on October 20, 2023, at 8 PM! The screening, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, is exclusively for those who are bald or willing to shave their heads.
This eye-catching promotional stunt is set to take place at the Culver Theater. Tickets are free, but there’s a twist: attendees must arrive bald to gain entry. For those arriving with hair, an on-site barber will be available starting at 6 PM to facilitate the head-shaving process. This bold initiative not only promotes the film but also captures the event on camera for promotional use, echoing tactics commonly seen in horror movie marketing.
Bugonia stars Emma Stone as Michelle, a pharmaceutical CEO who becomes the captive of conspiracy enthusiasts Teddy, played by Jesse Plemons, and Don, portrayed by Aidan Delbis. The film’s plot centers around the bizarre belief of the kidnappers, who think Michelle is an alien intent on destroying Earth. As part of her captivity, they shave her head to prevent her from contacting her supposed spaceship. Stone, who actually shaved her head for this role, described the experience as “pretty great” back in August.
This exclusive screening is part of a growing trend in innovative film promotions that engage audiences in unusual ways. The film will officially release in theaters on October 24, 2023, allowing those who prefer to keep their hair intact a chance to see it soon after.
Act fast—this is a first-come, first-serve event that promises a memorable experience for attendees. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of this one-of-a-kind film event! Share this news with friends who might be interested in this bold movie promotion.
