Second Arrest in Norwalk Storage Unit Burglary of 89 Units
UPDATE: A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a shocking burglary at a storage unit facility in Norwalk, Connecticut, where 89 units were compromised and approximately $23,000 worth of items, including firearms, were stolen. Colt Meadows, aged 22 from West Haven, was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon at Stamford Superior Court after police secured an arrest warrant.
The burglary, which occurred on July 1, 2024, at Cubesmart, located at 162 Bouton St., has drawn significant attention due to the nature of the stolen goods. Authorities confirmed that the stolen .357 revolver has since been recovered in Branford, further heightening concerns about public safety in the region.
Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police Department announced that Meadows faces a slew of serious charges, including five counts each of third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, along with two counts each of conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny and theft of a firearm. His bond is set at $50,000, and he is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
Earlier developments in the investigation led to the arrest of Tylon Gardner, age 35, from Hamden, who was taken into custody on September 10. Gardner faces similar charges, reinforcing the severity of this crime. His case remains pending in Stamford Superior Court as law enforcement continues to piece together the events leading to this major theft.
