The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department identified the individual as Jerome Willis, 33October 1, 2023, when authorities responded to reports of retail theft at the Ulta Beauty outlet located in the 12700 block of Main Street. Store employees reported that Willis entered the store, filled his cart with items valued at approximately $1,000, and fled without paying, escaping in a Chevy Traverse SUV.

The very next day, deputies from the Victorville Sheriff’s Station made a significant discovery while conducting a separate investigation. They spotted Willis’ SUV, leading to the recovery of the stolen merchandise hidden inside the vehicle. Authorities swiftly apprehended him at the scene, preventing further theft.
