Urgent Alert: PC Prices Set to Surge Ahead of Black Friday
URGENT UPDATE: Two leading boutique PC manufacturers, Maingear and CyberPowerPC, have just announced imminent price hikes for new computers, urging consumers to act fast—especially ahead of Black Friday. With new reports confirming that memory costs are skyrocketing, this shopping season may be your last chance to snag a deal before prices soar.
In a recent statement, Maingear‘s CEO, Wallace Santos, warned that the prices of RAM are expected to rise significantly, making Black Friday potentially the best time to buy a new PC or upgrade your current system. Santos stated, “We’ve already seen DRAM prices skyrocket due to shortages and are holding off those price changes for our customers as long as we can.” He advised consumers to consider purchasing immediately before the expected increases take effect.
Starting on December 7, 2025, CyberPowerPC will raise prices on its gaming PCs due to a staggering 500% surge in RAM prices and a 100% increase in SSD costs. The implications are clear: if you’re in the market for a new gaming rig, now is the time to buy. According to CyberPowerPC, the projected price increase will be around $80 for a PC with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, and $160 for systems with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD.
The warning signs have been evident since early October, when RAM prices began to climb dramatically. Analysts have raised concerns that these shortages could persist into 2026, with the possibility of a full-blown RAM crisis extending even into 2027. Consumers are feeling the pressure, and as Santos noted, “I anticipate that the prices will continue to rise and then we will eventually have to increase our lead times as stock and allocation becomes constrained.”
The urgency is palpable; with the holiday shopping season underway, shoppers are encouraged to seize the moment before prices escalate further. Black Friday offers a unique opportunity for consumers to secure discounts on PCs, SSDs, and GPUs before the memory crisis deepens.
In light of these developments, potential buyers should act quickly. With the increasing costs of essential components, the window to purchase at reasonable prices is closing rapidly. Don’t miss out on what could be the last best chance to buy a new PC at a discount this year.
For those considering upgrades, especially for laptops or memory components, the message is clear: “Buy sooner rather than later.” As the market continues to shift, consumers are reminded to keep an eye on upcoming price trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
As we approach Black Friday, the call to action is loud and clear—if you’re looking to upgrade or buy a new PC, this is the moment to act. Stay tuned for more updates as this situation evolves.
