Urgent Update: Front Range Teams Gear Up for 2025-26 Basketball Season
UPDATE: The highly anticipated 2025-26 girls basketball season is officially underway in the Front Range, with teams from the Granite Peaks League eager to showcase their talent. As games approach, teams are ramping up preparations, revealing key players and critical strategies that could define their seasons.
The Broomfield Eagles are making headlines with standout senior forward Paige Gilpatrick, who has committed to play for Boise State next year. Last season, the Eagles boasted an impressive record of 23-2, reaching the Class 6A Sweet 16. With returning starters like point guard Kaitlyn Cole and Gilpatrick’s sister, Reece Gilpatrick, who recently won gold with Team USA at the FIBA U16 AmeriCup, the Eagles are primed for another successful run.
The Erie Tigers, under Coach Tyler Cerveny, are also looking strong, finishing last year with a 15-9 record. Senior guard Juliet Slater is closing in on 1,000 career points as she enters the season with 715 points. The Tigers aim to improve on last year’s fifth-place league finish and capitalize on their home-court advantage.
Meanwhile, the Fairview Knights are hoping to bounce back after a 12-12 season. Coach Pete Campbell is counting on junior guard/forward Chloe Hickory, who averaged 10.7 points last year, to lead the team in their playoff aspirations.
The Holy Family Tigers, with Coach Mike Quintana, reached the semifinals in the 4A state tournament last season and are looking to build on that success. Senior guard Gracie Ward averaged 14 points last season and will be pivotal in their chase for the title again.
As teams finalize their rosters, coaches are eagerly evaluating new talent, including Emi Sanders from Centaurus, who is looking to step up after an injury last season, and Avery White from Silver Creek, who led her team with 16.3 points and 11.4 rebounds last year.
The excitement is palpable as these teams prepare for their upcoming matchups. With the season just around the corner, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for more updates and to support their local teams.
As the season progresses, keep an eye on standout performances and emerging talents that could shape the landscape of girls basketball in the Front Range. This year promises to be filled with thrilling moments and fierce competition—don’t miss a beat!
