Met Museum Unveils Major Ancient Egypt Exhibition After Decade

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has launched its first major exhibition on ancient Egypt in over a decade, titled “Divine Egypt.” The show opened on October 12, 2023, and aims to illuminate how ancient Egyptians depicted their gods and goddesses through a collection of over 200 works, including statues and figurines sourced from the museum’s extensive collection and beyond.

Exploring the Pantheon of Egyptian Deities

Curated by Diana Craig Patch, the exhibition spans all periods of ancient Egyptian civilization, focusing on 25 main deities. Among the notable figures represented are Amun-Re, Horus, and Hathor.
