Pressure Increases on Hamas as UN Supports Trump Peace Initiative

Pressure is mounting on Hamas to disarm and withdraw from Gaza following the U.N. Security Council’s approval of a peace plan by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on regional governments to unite with Israel in this effort, emphasizing the need to end Hamas’ governance in the region. In a statement shared on social media, Netanyahu declared that it is time to “begin ending Hamas’ rule” over Gaza.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s office indicated that Israel fully supports the U.N. vote and urges cooperation from both Western nations and Arab neighbors. This collaboration is viewed as crucial in shifting Hamas’ current stance, which has not shown a willingness to disarm. “In cooperation with the United States and other countries signed on to President Trump’s plan, we expect to receive all of the deceased hostages with no delay,” the statement read.
