Stewart Cink secured victory at the PGA Tour Champions’ season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship on March 15, 2025, held at the Phoenix Country Club. Cink closed the tournament with a stellar 4-under 67, finishing at a remarkable 20-under 264, which placed him two strokes ahead of Steven Alker, the third-round leader who ultimately finished second in the tournament.

Alker’s performance faltered on the final hole as he bogeyed the par-5 18th, ending his day with a score of 70. Despite the setback, Alker’s consistent play throughout the season earned him second place in the overall standings for the Charles Schwab Cup.

Cink’s win marks his third title of the season and elevates his career total to four victories on the 50-and-older tour, highlighting his success after transitioning from the PGA Tour, where he won eight times. His most notable achievement on the main tour includes a dramatic playoff victory against Tom Watson at the 2009 British Open.

Cink’s performance at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship was bolstered by strong finishes from other competitors. Freddie Jacobson shot a 66, while both Jerry Kelly and Tommy Gainey finished with scores of 67 and 68, respectively. All three players concluded the tournament tied for third at 15-under par.

This championship not only solidifies Cink’s status within the PGA Tour Champions but also underscores his competitive spirit and resilience at the age of 52. As the season comes to a close, Cink’s achievements will undoubtedly set a high standard for the upcoming year.
