Volunteers Brighten Wilkes-Barre with Annual Window Painting Project

The 27th annual Window Painting Project took place at the Children’s Service Center in Wilkes-Barre on November 22, 2025. This beloved event, held in memory of Edward Luksha and Barbara Luksha Roche, continues to be sponsored by the Luksha-Brown family. The project draws together community members, showcasing their artistic talents while spreading holiday cheer.

Volunteers gathered to decorate windows with vibrant holiday-themed designs. Among them was Evelyn Migatulski, who applied the finishing touches to her cheerful SpongeBob painting. The atmosphere buzzed with enthusiasm as participants of all ages contributed to the colorful display.

Amelia Grudkowski and Colleen Weiss were also seen adding their unique flair to the festive decorations. The event creator, Rosemary Luksha, expressed her joy in seeing the community come together. She initiated the window painting project over 20 years ago as a tribute to her late brother, Edward Luksha.

The Children’s Service Center has served as a vital resource for local children and families, and events like the Window Painting Project enhance its role in the community. Volunteers, including Anne Jenkins and Allison Stallard, joined in the excitement, transforming the center into a vibrant holiday wonderland.

As the day progressed, the windows became a canvas for creativity, with scenes ranging from snowmen to Santa Claus, reflecting the spirit of the season. The event not only showcases artistic talent but also fosters a sense of unity among participants.
