Stephanie McMahon Supports Daughters’ Wrestling Aspirations
Stephanie McMahon has expressed her full support for her daughters should they choose to pursue careers as WWE wrestlers. Speaking on her podcast “What’s Your Story?”, she acknowledged the challenges her children would face in the wrestling industry, particularly due to their family’s prominent legacy.
The daughters of McMahon and her husband, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, are currently aged 19, 17, and 15. Their eldest daughter, Aurora, is studying physical therapy at university and aims to earn a doctoral degree. Despite her academic focus, McMahon remains open to the possibility of Aurora or her other daughters stepping into the wrestling ring in the future.
“Oh, totally,” McMahon said when asked about her support for her daughters’ potential wrestling careers. “I mean, they would have to work really hard, right? And I think, you know, when you are the child of, you have to earn it more, quite frankly, in order to appreciate the business, appreciate the people in the business. Respect is earned, not given.”
Growing up in the world of professional wrestling, McMahon regards her experience as a privilege. She emphasizes the sense of community within the wrestling world, stating, “We’re a family. And I feel even our fans are a part of this family.” She describes wrestling fans as “my people,” highlighting the strong values and connections that unite them.
Reflecting on her daughters’ initial aspirations, McMahon recalled that Aurora once expressed a desire not just to follow in her parents’ footsteps but to take on the role of running WWE, similar to her grandfather, Vince McMahon. Aurora even trained in the ring with experienced wrestlers such as Natalya and Charlotte Flair.
However, recent controversies surrounding Vince McMahon, including allegations of sexual assault and a trafficking scandal, have impacted Aurora’s perception of a career in wrestling. “She’s naturally gifted, like in the ring,” McMahon noted. “Nattie used to train her. She did, you know, a long time ago, and then everything happened, you know, with my dad and the business and I left.”
Stephanie McMahon acknowledged that the fallout from these events has significantly affected her children, particularly Aurora, who had envisioned a clear path in wrestling. “And I think I don’t realize necessarily the impact that it had, especially on Aurora, but on all of my kids,” she said. The sudden shift in circumstances forced Aurora to reconsider her career options.
Despite the challenges, McMahon remains optimistic about her daughters’ futures. “Who knows? She might find her way back to it,” she said of Aurora’s potential return to wrestling. Both Natalya and Charlotte Flair have praised Aurora’s talent, reinforcing McMahon’s belief in her daughter’s abilities.
Currently, Stephanie McMahon does not hold an executive role within WWE but makes occasional appearances and hosts her podcast for the WWE & Fanatics podcast network. She is set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2024, a testament to her significant contributions to the company. Meanwhile, Triple H continues to lead WWE’s creative direction as Chief Content Officer, shaping the future of the organization.
As the landscape of wrestling evolves, the McMahon-Levesque family remains a pivotal part of its narrative, navigating new challenges while maintaining a strong commitment to their legacy and the sport.
