Brother of Rams Star Puka Nacua Arrested for Car Theft
URGENT UPDATE: The brother of Los Angeles Rams star Puka Nacua, Samson Nacua, has been arrested for his involvement in the alleged theft of a vehicle owned by Los Angeles Lakers forward Adou Thiero. This incident unfolded over the weekend in West Hollywood and has raised significant attention among fans and media alike.
Authorities from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirmed that deputies tracked the stolen vehicle, a newer-model BMW, to the 8400 block of Sunset Boulevard on December 13, 2023. Two men, including Nacua and Trey Rose, also 27, were arrested on Saturday for allegedly taking the car without the owner’s permission. Both men were released later that night due to insufficient grounds to file a complaint, but the investigation is ongoing.
This incident is particularly shocking as it involves the brother of an NFL player performing at a high level in the league. Samson Nacua, 27, played alongside his younger brother Puka at BYU in 2021 and has had a tumultuous professional journey. After joining the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2022, he faced challenges and eventually turned to the USFL, playing for teams like the Pittsburgh Maulers and Michigan Panthers. He briefly returned to the NFL with the New Orleans Saints in 2024 but was waived before the season began.
Meanwhile, Puka Nacua, just 24, is currently excelling in his third season with the Rams, helping the team lead the NFC West with an impressive record of 11 wins out of 14 games. Known for his emotional pre-game rituals honoring his late father, Puka has drawn significant fan admiration and media attention, making this family incident even more striking.
As the situation develops, it remains crucial for fans and media to monitor updates from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. This story highlights not only individual accountability but also the complexities surrounding the lives of professional athletes and their families. Further details are expected as the investigation continues, and fans are urged to stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
