Patrick Mahomes has secured a multi-year extension with Adidas that marks his entry into the world of golf. The announcement coincides with the Kansas City Chiefs’ upcoming Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on November 23, 2023. This new partnership not only enhances Mahomes’ brand but also showcases Adidas’ strategy to expand into different sports categories.
New Golf Line Set to Launch
According to Bleacher Report, the extension will feature a new line under Adidas Golf that includes signature golf shoes and apparel. Mahomes continues to be a prominent figure in Adidas’ football segment, ensuring his visibility across multiple sports. The timing of the announcement is strategic, as it reaches a national audience just before a major holiday, amplifying its impact.
While excitement builds around this new venture, details regarding the retail rollout remain vague. Adidas has not disclosed specific launch dates, pricing, or distribution channels for the new golf line. Long-standing Relationship with Adidas
Mahomes’ relationship with Adidas began prior to his rookie season in 2017. Since then, he has successfully launched various signature products, including the Mahomes 2 collection, which debuted in 2024. This established partnership provides Adidas with a reliable framework for introducing the new golf line, leveraging Mahomes’ existing fanbase and market presence.
Off the field, Mahomes is diversifying his business interests. He has recently joined his wife’s ownership group as a minority owner of the NWSL’s Kansas City Current, a move first reported by Reuters. Additionally, he and fellow NFL star Travis Kelce opened a steakhouse, 1587 Prime, in Kansas City earlier this year, further expanding his portfolio.
