John DiBiaso Celebrates Fourth Super Bowl Win with Catholic Memorial

In a commanding performance, John DiBiaso led the Catholic Memorial Knights to a decisive 41-14 victory over Bishop Feehan in the MIAA Division II Super Bowl held at Gillette Stadium on March 15, 2025. This win marks the fourth Super Bowl title for DiBiaso in his eight years at the helm, further solidifying his legacy as one of the state’s most successful coaches.

The Knights, who finished the season with a 10-2 record, showcased their dominance throughout the tournament, outscoring opponents by a staggering total of 137-14 over three playoff games. DiBiaso, now with a career total of 383 wins, holds the record for the most Super Bowl victories by a coach in the state and is the only coach to have won titles with three different schools: Weston, Everett, and Catholic Memorial.

Reflecting on his success, DiBiaso remarked, “Winning is like Christmas; it never gets old for me.” He emphasized the importance of teamwork and leadership, particularly highlighting the resilience of this year’s squad, which overcame two regular-season losses to St. John’s Prep and Xaverian. “They remained focused, took it one week at a time, and the key to that was the senior leadership,” he explained.

Star Performances and Future Prospects

Quarterback Kise Flannery capped his high school career with a standout performance, rushing for 77 yards and two touchdowns while completing 6 of 11 passes for 69 yards. Flannery, who has committed to Harvard, expressed his excitement about achieving back-to-back Super Bowl victories after transferring from BC High before the 2024 season. “There’s no better feeling,” he stated, adding, “I knew what was expected of me, and it’s great to uphold that standard.”

DiBiaso praised Flannery not just for his athletic skills but also for his character off the field. “He’s a better person than he is a football player,” the coach noted, highlighting Flannery’s commitment to his family and community, including his role as a leader in the choir and his part-time job.

Bishop Feehan, who had not competed for a Super Bowl title since 2012, demonstrated great tenacity throughout the season, finishing with 10 victories. Coach Bryan Pinabell expressed pride in his team’s journey, stating, “Nobody thought we’d get here. They showed a lot of character all year, and I’m really proud of this group.” The Shamrocks managed to keep the game competitive, tying it 7-7 in the second quarter before falling behind due to turnovers that shifted momentum to Catholic Memorial.

Pinabell acknowledged the impact of those turnovers, saying, “That really hurt us. I think that changed the ball game.” The game also marked a poignant moment for senior standout Kane Mankins, who signed with Ole Miss earlier in the week. The 6-foot-5 lineman, son of former Patriots star Logan Mankins, has a promising future ahead as he prepares for the 2026 season.
